In fact, it contains polypeptide and charantin to lower the sugar levels of diabetic clients. It’s also a source of vitamin c and beta carotene which helps our immune system protect our body. It contains vitamin b3, b6, even research shows it is also believed as a treatment of HIV. What can you ask for? Bitter gourd has it all except one thing which is the taste. Many people especially kids don’t like the taste of bitter gourd. One way to make them eat is to improve the taste of it. So Ampalaya Con Carne is the answer for this, here it is:
Cooking Ingredients:
1kg beef sirloin (sliced into thin strips)
2pcs. Ampalaya (cleaned and sliced)
1/2 cup oyster sauce
2tbsp brown sugar
2tbsp black pepper (powdered)
3pcs. Bell pepper(sliced into cubes)
2-3tbsp olive oil
6 cloves garlic (minced)
1 pc.onion (sliced)
1 tbsp. cornstarch
¼ cup soy sauce
2 cups water
1 tbsp. sesame oil
Cooking Direction:
Step 1: mix beef with cornstarch, sesame oil, soy sauce and black pepper. Marinade it
at least 30 minutes.
Step 2: Heat the frying pan with olive oil. Saute garlic until it turned to brown then put the
onion and the marinated beef. Adjust the stove to medium heat wait until the
outer part of the beef turns brown.
Step 3: Add water, simmer until the beef is tender
Step 4: Add the oyster sauce, sugar (prepare extra salt and pepper) taste it then add
salt/pepper depends on your preference.
Note: salt and pepper to taste
Step5: Add bell pepper and turn off the heat. Serve and Enjoy.
