Tilapia Fish Patties |
Hence, I cooked fish patties made of tilapia, a very economic, yet flavourful fish choice.
This recipe that I am about to share is exactly the same recipe that I did when I was in high school. You might want to add or lessen some ingredients to fit your taste. As for my experience, below are the ingredients:
3 small-sized Tilapia, boiled, skinned and chopped/squashed
3 cups of water
1 piece of onion chopped fine
3 cloves of garlic minced
2 teaspoons pepper
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Magic Sarap
3 tablespoons flour
2 eggs
For the dip:
1 small cup catsup
1 small cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons pepper
2 teaspoons Magic Sarap
Cooking Direction for cooking Tilapia Fish Patty
1. As you chop the garlic and onion, put the 3 Tilapias in a large pot with 3 cups of water.
2. Place the pot on a stove and wait till it boils. Leave it for 2 more minutes to make sure that the Tilapias are cooked.
3. You can now remove the tilapia on the pot and let it cool for about 5 minutes. You can place it in front of the electric fan to hasten the cooling process.
4. This time, manually remove the skin of the Tilapia and manually smash the white parts making sure not to include the bones.
5. In a large bowl, mix the chopped garlic and onion. Then, place all the smashed/chopped white parts of the Tilapias in the bowl.
6. Break 2 eggs in the bowl. Add pepper, salt, Magic Sarap and flour. Mix all the ingredients.
7. Divide the mixture into small patties and balls as you desire. You can make a smaller patty if you want to create more, but you can also create a bigger patty if you prefer.
8. Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-heat with about a cup of oil. Place the fish patties and balls, and cook them for 3 minutes on each side until the patties/balls turn into golden brown.
9. Place the cooked patties/balls in a plate with tissue papers for the oil to be absorbed.
10. Prepare the dip by mixing catsup, mayonnaise, pepper, and magic sarap together.
Enjoy!
